A Week of Filming

This week I’ve not been working at Nando’s. Instead, I’ve been shooting WALK AWAY with Jennifer Drewett in Cardiff. It’s been a tricky film shoot; with its ups and downs, twists and turns. We got kicked out of Bute Park for filming there without permission or ‘proper’ Council authority forms – in case we were actually filming children or other people etc. Load of BULL if you ask me. Then people couldn’t make things because of other things coming up. But on the positive side, as much as we had problems, we all still pulled together and remained professional with the whole thing.

I have to admit, I really didn’t think this project was ever going to get off the ground at all, because of so many complications. Luckily, with a few changes here and there, it’s sort of taken flight.

I’m grateful for the project because through it I’ve met more interesting and totally wonderful people – the likes of Richard Goss who’s very much into his stunt work and fighting. We’re very good friends. Also, the wonderful Jasmine Smart; an actress of incredibly high calibre and professionalism. It’s always a pleasure to work with her and I hope to do so again sometime soon. We have such a laugh on set.

It’s not just filming I’ve done this week. Yesterday I also did a little bit of audio work for another student in the Atrium – Ross Exton. He’d written an amazing short script (his first ever, apparently) and after reading it, I immediately jumped to action. I love doing varying styles of acting – film and TV, stage, and radio. If I can bag myself some stage work next, I’ll be laughing!

I LOVE getting back into my acting work. It’s been a long long time since I last did it, which makes one’s skills feel dried up and dead. The more I get, the happier I’ll be.
