Whenever I have to record myself – be it speaking on video camera or on audio – I get a terrible fear that it’s ‘rubbish’ or ‘boring’. I’m always very conscious of the camera or microphone being there and (very much like stage fright) I panic, worry about getting things wrong and detest the sound of my own voice.
In an attempt to quell my fear of voice recording, I’ve started recording my voice in the background as I read more chapters of books. Hopefully it’ll get me used to the idea of ACTUALLY recording things on audio and help with my nervous disposition.
The same idea can be used for working on film. If I read monologues into my video camera and upload them as blogs or whatnot, it will eventually settle my nervous fear of working in front of a camera.
Good idea? Opinions?
